Surprisingly enjoyable game. The choices and narrative flow are so immersive that it feels unlike any other, despite being a linear visual novel. It gives a strong sense of control over the characters’ actions, even though the story itself is predetermined.
Summary: The game is framed around two goddesses, one representing love and the other control. It skillfully blends familiar tropes — the amnesiac protagonist, the nymphomaniac, the shy bookish LI, and the voluptuous MILF housewife — with some unique elements. The frequent sexual encounters enhance the narrative, making for a surprisingly satisfying experience.
Plot: Throughout the game, the protagonist can choose to seduce or use mind control to achieve his goals, sparking interesting reflections on free will, love, and control. The story unfolds day by day, as the protagonist tries to piece together his identity. Much of the drama is domestic, with the occasional domineering professor or abusive mafioso adding variety. With the protagonist’s divine powers, there are numerous sex scenes involving five different human love interests and three goddesses (with a few more potential relationships hinted at). While I generally prefer a slower buildup, the story does a solid job of suspending disbelief about how quickly the women become involved with the protagonist. The dream sequences are a nice touch, revealing deeper emotions within the characters. There’s a moderate amount of kink, much of which can be skipped, but avoiding sex with the core characters is impossible. The incest is central to the game, and it only makes full narrative sense with the patch installed. This family-centered focus adds a claustrophobic feel that complements the story well.
Dialogue: The writing is solid, especially for this genre. Many games struggle here, but My Best Deal avoids that pitfall. However, the teenage characters often speak in a casual, modern way that isn’t particularly deep or clever.
Still Images: The render quality is impressive. Faces and body types are varied, and while many backgrounds are stock images, they’re used effectively. The framing and focus offer good variety as well.
Animation: There’s a lot of high-quality short loops that add to the overall experience.
